Ahmedabad: Schools with pending audits to lose grants
Ahmedabad, Oct 7, 2023
The state education department has decided to withhold or deduct grants and salaries of staff to grant-in-aid schools if their annual internal audit reports or assessments have not been filed. If the school has not filed data pertaining to one year, it will lose 25% of its grants. It will lose 100% of the grants if it is found to not have submitted the data pertaining to two or more years.
The department has ordered all district education officers (DEOs) to collect details of such schools and act against them. It has asked schools to submit their financial audit reports before June-end.
