CAs flag concerns about glitches in MCA portal

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) is facing criticism from company secretaries regarding the functionality of its newly launched portal. Since its inception in January, the portal has encountered issues related to changing company details, such as directorship, company name, and certifications.

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has reached out to the central government, urging prompt resolution of the problems. As a result of technical glitches, companies have been burdened with late fees, further exacerbating the situation.

A company secretary, refusing to be named, said, “We need to file different forms as per the Companies Act, 2013, to the MCA portal. MCA has upgraded its portal, and since then, we have been facing difficulties in various procedures.” CAs are also facing issues . CA R D Choudhary said, “There are cases where the company name is changed in the ministry data, but we are not issued a certificate, so we cannot get changes made at the bank .”
