ED raids 12 places in Nagpur, quizzes top chartered accountants

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Nagpur branch, along with their Mumbai and Delhi counterparts, conducted searches at at least 12 different places in the city targeting the activities of few top business groups connected to Pankaj Mehadiya and associate groups.
Nagpur police Economic offence wing had registered an offence against Mehadiya before ED had taken up the probe from them registering fresh offence.
The central agency team, working on an offence registered by them, has involved multiple squads to conduct the action.
Sources stated the ED teams have targeted basically a major groups related to Mehadiya from steel and iron industry, their associates and partners.
Traders, attached to the coal, hawala (illegal money transfer), construction and other activities have been brought under the radar during the ongoing actions.
Apart from the traders' offices, searches are also conducted at their residences too. Several top financial firms and Chartered accountant were also under scanner of the ED teams.
Till filing of the reports, top chartered accountants too were learnt to be quizzed.
