Gujarat: Tax evasion of 5.7cr detected

The state goods and services tax department recently conducted raids at computer training institutes, mainly animation and multimedia training centres. During the raids at 39 locations in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot, tax evasion of Rs 5.7 crore was unearthed. Of this, SGST officials recovered Rs 2.75 crore on Saturday itself.

Raids were conducted on 39 locations of 15 institutes after July 26. It was found that several entities were taking payments in cash and not showing them in their accounts.
